He Dwelt Among Us

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 1:14 (NKJV)
I stand in awe as I read these words afresh: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
God, Ruler in the highest heaven, Creator of all things, the Holiest of all came and dwelt among mankind.

The Apostle Paul tries to grasp this amazing truth as He wrote to the Christians in Philippi these words:
“…Christ Jesus,  who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,  but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

What God would come and live with His creation?  What God would come to purposely dwell in a broken world?  What God would come and die to save His creation?  Only our God!  Out of His great love and care for us He came to make a way for us to be with Him forever.  Have you taken the way to Him?  Have you beheld Him?  Have you stood in the rays of His glory?  Have you experienced the blessing of grace and truth that overflow from His vessel?

What a joy we have in Jesus as we bask in the light of His glory and grace!  Let us remember all that Christ has brought us when He came and dwelt among us.
