Deeper Waters

“29 So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”
 Matthew 14:29 (NKJV)
Jesus beckons Peter to His side with one simple word – “Come.”  But who knew that such a simple word could be so hard to obey?  Under normal circumstances coming to the Master was a fairly easy task, but this time the Messiah stood in the midst of a raging storm.  His feet were firmly planted on top of the stormy sea away from the boat of safety.  And from the midst of the billowing waves He calls to Peter and says, “Come.”  Even though Peter was of little faith, he still stepped out of the boat and walked upon the water.  Sure he started to sink after a while before the Master caught him, but he still walked on the water.  Oh, how his faith must have been strengthened and his walk deepened with the Lord after that experience.
Is Jesus calling to you in this hour to do something out of your realm of comfort?  Is He softly pulling on the strings of your heart, beckoning you to come out to Him on the water where your feet have never been before?  If so, then fear not child of God, for the One who has called you is the One who will keep you.
If you want to go deeper with your Savior, then come to Him and see what He will do.  Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone today as He leads you.

Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me”
