The Crimson Cord of Christ
“…she bound the scarlet cord in the window.”
Joshua 2:21 (NKJV)
Joshua 2:21 (NKJV)
There is only one household that survived the destruction of Jericho. Divine Providence spared the house of Rehab the harlot. What was her saving grace? A scarlet cord that hung in her window, visible for all to see. The fine line between life and death was separated only by that thin red cord.
Do you fear death? If so, has not the crimson cord of Christ been hung in your window of your heart?
As a bee will lose its stinger after stinging its victim, so death has lost its sting when it stung Jesus for those who trust in Him. Peace and rest secure the heart of him who has tied the crimson cord of Christ by faith over his soul.
How about you dear reader? Have you trusted Christ as your savior? Have you believed in Him who saves? Have you washed your garments white in the blood of Calvary’s Lamb’s? If not, then go up to the mountain of mercy. Be cleansed by the perpetual tide of His grace. If you seek Him, you will find Him when you search for Him with all of your heart. Like the father of the prodigal son, the feet of the Father are ready to run to you when you turn to Him in repentance. His arms are ready to embrace you and welcome you home. I pray you will come to Him today.

“Go on up to the mountain of mercy
To the crimson perpetual tide
Kneel down on the shore
Be thirsty no more
Go under and be purified”
