How it all started...
From the beginning of Calvary Rio Rancho in 1986, we have confessed that we are “strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (Heb 11:13). Pastor Robert Hall (a business owner) and his wife, Juanita were instrumental in getting the church started after two years of praying for a Calvary in our town. We started with just a few families meeting in a small professional office building, migrating to eight different locations including the (now closed) Rio Rancho Twin Cinema, the Jewish Community Center, a Lutheran Church building, a Day Care Center, and our present location, the old National Guard Armory.
Since the beginning we have taught the Bible, verse by verse, book by book, realizing that it is the truth of the Word of God that frees people from the bondage and deceitfulness of sin. God has always answered our prayers for spiritual growth, which has led to numerical growth as we “hold forth the Word of life” (Ph 2:16) to our lost and hurting neighbors, and fervently pray for His continued blessing, gracious correction, and divine guidance in advancing His kingdom. If you do not currently have a home church, we would love for you to join our church family and grow in Christ together!

Where we are headed...
As we’ve made some changes in leadership, our direction as a church has changed as well. Our heart is to start within our own body here at Calvary, taking care of our fellowship needs and branching out from there. We believe that we need to have a solid family, a solid fellowship of people that love the Lord and love one another. Our goal is to provide ministry to our body of believers and spread that love into the community. As the Lord leads and provides we plan to get more involved in local missions. What an awesome God we serve!
