Come and Glean from His Field

“3 So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.”
Ruth 2:3 (NIV84)

Ruth had lost everything except her mother-in-law.  But wait.  There is hope on the horizon as she gleans from the field of Boaz.  No other field yields a harvest like this field.  Its owner is gentle, kind, and lowly in heart.  He protects the poor and the widow from being swallowed up in their poverty.  His field is a sanctuary for those who are wearied by life’s storms.  It may be difficult to think of someone more kind than he.
But we have a better Boaz in Jesus Christ.  His field is ripe and ready for the harvest.  â€œCome”, He says to the weak and wounded sinner as He beckons them to glean from the richness of His field.  No other field can match the fullness of His field.  Each head of grain is plump and able to satisfy your need.  Come, taste, and see for yourself.  There will be no regret in doing so, other than that you had not come sooner.  There you will find yourself shortly feasting at His table for He has compassion on those who humble themselves and call upon His name.

I pray you will not wait until tomorrow to open the granary door of His Word; to glean from it and be satisfied.
